AI Founder Series: Alex Prokhorenko of GoodReps.ai

Experienced tech entrepreneur Alex Prokhorenko, with two past IPOs and 1 acquisition under his belt, recently left his product leader role at Meta (Facebook) to join the AI revolution and build GoodReps.ai. GoodReps is creating AI agents for the insurance industry (and beyond!) to spend less time on non-revenue generating activities. Join us for this exclusive deep dive with Alex, or read our summary below.

Alex's Background

Alex has an engineering background and has started multiple companies in the past. Some of his key experiences:

  • Started his first company after college which returned his money but wasn't a major success. Gave him the entrepreneurial bug.

  • Started another company focused on big data and internet technology. Gained some traction but failed as a business. Learned he needs both product/market fit and business model.

  • Worked at companies like Splunk and Zora where he experienced taking companies public through IPOs. Very exciting but less than 10% of people actually get to experience an IPO firsthand.

  • Most recently started a last-mile delivery company focused on disrupting the courier industry. Grew it to multi-million in ARR before a successful exit.

After his delivery startup, Alex decided to join Facebook but struggled to adjust to a more slow-paced environment. After a couple years, with the rise of generative AI in late 2021, Alex knew he wanted to build something impactful in this space.

Solving Information & Communication Inefficiencies

Most companies today have information and interactions spread across many different systems like:

  • Email

  • Text Messages

  • Help Desk Tools

  • CRMs

  • ERPs

  • Internal APIs

This leads to a highly fragmented environment. Humans waste a lot of time trying to gather information from these siloed sources to answer questions and address customer/partner requests.

Goodreps.ai aims to create an "intelligence layer" to connect these systems. This system can understand incoming requests, pull contextual information from various sources, and provide personalized responses.

Levels of Automation

Goodreps.ai thinks of levels of automation similar to self-driving cars:

Level 1) Aggregate knowledge to answer basic questions
Level 2) Pull structured metadata from systems like CRM to enhance context
Level 3) Extract insights from unstructured data like contracts
Level 4) Provide simple confirmations to requests

The goal isn't 100% automation but to automate 50%+ of traffic in a way that drives major efficiency gains.

Initial Focus on the Insurance Industry

Alex connected with leaders from the insurance industry that validated the problem space and use cases.

Some example scenarios goodreps.ai is addressing:

  • Reducing time agents spend answering support questions. Allows them to focus more on selling.

  • Qualifying and following up on incoming leads. Currently many leads fall through the cracks.

  • Bringing back churned accounts by proactively reaching out.

In addition to driving sales, goodreps.ai can provide insights by analyzing lost opportunities. This helps insurance providers optimize.

Current Status

Goodreps.ai launched a beta product and is onboarding initial customers. The product supports self-serve access for simpler needs or more custom integrations for complex use cases. Find out more at goodreps.ai .

Implications for AI on Jobs

Alex believes that, while some repetitive jobs may be eliminated, AI technologies (and goodreps) is actually enhancing human potential. Removing monotonous tasks allows people to focus on more creative, impactful work. It may also lead people into more entrepreneurial roles vs. rote tasks.
